WIKILEAKS LEGAL ISSUES SURROUNDING THE WEB SITE

Floyd Abrams talked about the various legal issues surrounding the Wikileaks Web site, as well as the possible prosecution of the site's editor-in-chief Julian Assange under the 1917 Espionage Act, and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. Mr. Abrams represented the New York Times in the Pentagon Papers case, taking the position that the First Amendment protected the New York Times and Washington Post’s rights to publish a classified report on the Vietnam War. C-SPAN Radio's Nancy Calo read news headlines at the end of the program.
